We (Finance Now Limited) will be capturing your ID document and an image of your face via your device camera. This data will be collected by us and used by third parties to verify your identity. We will also be needing your permission to access your camera and location for this purpose.

This privacy policy describes the type of information that we will collect about you through this ID capture process, how we will handle your information, and who we can share your information with. By using this process, you confirm that you are authorised to provide us with the personal details and any supporting documents you provide to us through this process.
What personal information will we collect?
By using this ID capture process, you agree that we may collect, store and retain the following types of information:
- A copy of any document you upload (for example, your New Zealand Driver’s Licence, New Zealand Passport or Australian Passport) and any personal (including biometric) information contained in those documents or which you enter into the screens as part of the process;
- Details of your activity within this process; and
- Information relating to your mobile device (including your application version, mobile device type, operating system, IP address and security information related to your mobile device, geo-location information, and computer and connection information).
Why we collect, retain and disclose your personal information
We collect, retain and disclose your personal information in order to:
- Electronically verify (or re-verify) your identity and address (“ID Verification”) at the time you use our ID capture process and comply with our legal obligations; and
- Operate, improve and optimise our website or the process for our customers, including sending you service, support, and administrative messages, reminders, updates, and security alerts and managing compatibility issues or required upgrades.
Who will we share your personal information with?
To complete your ID Verification, this process uses an electronic verification platform provided by Where Limited, trading as Origin ID (“Origin ID”) to match your personal details against official records held with the New Zealand Government and/or within identification databases maintained by select independent third party agencies such as the New Zealand Transport Agency, the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs or various credit reporting agencies (“Third Party Agencies”).
By using this process, you acknowledge that we will (or may) disclose your personal information to Origin ID, relevant Third-Party Agencies, and any service providers who assist us to operate this ID capture process (including developing, hosting, or maintaining the process, reporting on or facilitating the process or providing customer support, marketing assistance or analytical services).
You also authorise us to disclose your personal information (including the results of your ID Verification) to our parent and related companies including SBS Bank, Southsure Assurance Limited (trading as SBS Insurance), and Funds Administration New Zealand Limited, where you apply for, or have, a product or service with them, to assist them to complete your ID Verification and comply with their legal obligations.
You also agree to the Third Party Agencies listed above disclosing your personal information to Origin ID and for us to confirm the results of your ID Verification.
Your personal information will only be disclosed to the above Third-Party Agencies to the extent necessary to carry out your ID Verification, where required by law, or as otherwise authorised by you.
What are your rights?
It is your decision whether you wish to provide your personal information to us via this process. If you do not consent to us collecting and disclosing your personal information using this process, you will need to contact us to use an alternative method to complete your ID Verification. You can contact us to discuss the alternative ways to complete your ID Verification by calling our Contact Centre on 0508 868 868.
We are also happy to provide you with access to (including the ability to correct), any personal information that we hold about you. If you wish to access your personal information or if any of the personal information we have is incorrect, or you think we have breached our obligations under the Privacy Act, please call our Contact Centre on 0800 40 50 70 or contact one of our branches during business hours.
Analytics and External Partners
We may also use Google Analytics service to measure the performance of this process. This provides us with statistics detailing daily activity (such as the number of visitors, the time of the day our customers access this process, the type of mobile device used to access and the number of page views). This information is completely anonymous and allows us to provide the optimal experience for users of our ID capture process.

We are not responsible for the content of these websites, their privacy policies or the personal information which such websites may collect about you.
